Clothing
Item Preparation Guidelines
To maintain a high-quality, boutique-style shopping experience, all items must be prepared according to the guidelines below. Items that do not meet these standards may be rejected at check-in.
Clothing Condition
-
All clothing must be freshly laundered, wrinkle-free, and on a hanger.
-
Clothing placed in Ziploc bags or plastic baggies will not be accepted.
Proper Hanging Requirements
-
Items must be hung so the hanger forms a question mark (“?”) when the clothing is facing you.
-
Clothing must face the same direction for consistent rack organization.
Approved Hangers
-
Plastic, wire, or velvet hangers may be used for tops, jackets, and dresses.
-
Hangers must be appropriate for the garment (for example, heavy coats must be on sturdy hangers).
Bottoms
-
Clip-style pants hangers are required for all bottoms.
-
Bottoms folded over a hanger will not be accepted.
-
Pants attached to hangers with safety pins will not be accepted.
Prohibited Fasteners
The following are strictly prohibited:
-
Safety pins
-
Staples
-
Straight pins
-
Clothespins
-
Tape
NO SAFETY PINS. Clothing safety-pinned to hangers will be rejected.
Tag Attachment Instructions
-
Always attach the inventory tag to the garment’s original tag when possible.
-
If no garment tag is present, tagging is permitted only through:
-
A seam in the left armpit (right side when facing you on the hanger)
-
The back of the neck seam
-
The side seam or back inside seam of pants
-
⚠️ Important Warning
-
Items with holes or puncture marks in the fabric are subject to rejection.
-
Never pierce directly through fabric with a tagging gun.
-
Tagging through fabric can cause holes and will result in the item not being accepted.
Selling Matching Sets
-
When selling multiple pieces together (for example, leggings with a matching sports bra):
-
Each item must be placed on a separate hanger
-
Hangers should be secured together using a zip tie
-
Position garments back-to-back so the front of each item is visible
-
-
Never attach pants to a top using a tagging gun, as this will damage the fabric and result in rejection.
